New Sauber driver Nico Hulkenberg has revealed his excitement at being the team’s senior star in 2013.

The German will partner rookie racer Esteban Gutierrez next term, as the Swiss team line-up two new drivers.

Hulkenberg is enthusiastic about the opportunity, and believes that it will not take him long to adjust to his new surroundings:

“I will simply concentrate on my job of trying to deliver good results.”

“There is no warm-up phase anymore, so I personally hope that I start performing right at the point where I finished at the end of 2012 – and that was a very promising point,” he said.

“I am changing teams so there will be a ‘getting to know each other’ phase but I am confident that this will go smoothly.”

He also paid tribute to former team Force India, with whom he has a successful 2012 season:

“For me it has been a great year with Force India,

“I will keep so many good memories from 2012.”
