Sebastian Vettel has revealed that he would rather have Kimi Raikkonen as his 2014 team-mate than Fernando Alonso.

With Mark Webber having elected to leave the sport at the end of the season, Red Bull are in the market for a new racer.

Raikkonen and Alonso are two names said to be on their hit list, but Vettel made it clear that he would prefer to be alongside the Finn:

“I’d prefer Kimi,” he told BBC Sport.

“I need to be careful now, but nothing against Fernando. I really respect him a lot as a driver.

“But I respect Kimi on track, off track, because he has always been very straight with me.

“From that point of view it would be a bit easier.”
