After being eliminated on the first lap of the last two races, Felipe Massa would’ve been happy just to have made it through the opening exchanges at a wet Hungaroring. What’s more, the 10 points that he secured with his fifth place finish will have raised his spirits further.

Staying clear of trouble was no mean feat, with plenty of high speed crashes occurring as drivers struggled for grip. Nevertheless, Massa managed to do just that, and had a long spell running in third place.

A later stop than most left him with Kimi Raikkonen to contend with on the charge to the chequered flag. The Brazilian did enough to keep the man who filled his seat at Ferrari behind him to return to point-scoring ways.
