Next stop for the Formula One soap opera carries on this weekend at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Nico Rosberg overtook Lewis Hamilton in the drivers’ Championship on his home patch at the German Grand Prix.

The star, who was born and raised in Monaco, was not allowed to wear his racing helmet he created especially for the race as it was deemed controversial.

The helmet featured the German flag and the World Cup trophy which FIFA, football’s governing body objected too.

The German wanted to wear the helmet to highlight the fact that his country won The World Cup in Brazil.

His Mercedes team-mate had a weekend to forget as he crashed in qualifying because of brake failure.

Lewis decided to change his gearbox on his car and started way back in 20th position on the grid.

Mercedes with their raw power will always be the first pair on the top of the grid depending if their cars have any issues.

Daniel Ricciardo may have something to say about that as he has performed well in his first season in Formula One.

Williams who are also powered by the Mercedes engine have improved of late and could mount a title charge if they have some luck.

Felipe Massa was taken out yet again in Hockenheim after colliding with Kevin Magnussen.

Despite Hamilton’s setback he managed to finished third and would have been second had his front wing had not been damaged by the collision with Jenson Button.

Williams’ Valterri Bottas separated the Mercedes pair to clinch his third podium in a row.

With this victory for Rosberg extending his lead again to 14 points with nine races left in the calendar.

Both of the drivers’ seeing to have technical problems with their cars at various points of the season, I think this Championship will come down to reliability in the end.

I think Hamilton will win if it comes down to speed but we know that Formula One doesn’t.

Whatever happens it will be between the two Mercedes’ drivers’ to battle it out for the Championship.

But in the end I think Niko Rosberg will just steal under the nose of his team-mate.
